    Who
My name's Anita Wirawan and I love stories :).

I read/watch a lot of stories and like to share the most interesting and unusual ones here to see what everyone else thinks about them.

    Why
I had originally started this blog as a way to get things together after my brother Jody died back in 2008, but it's turned into a lot more than that.

I hope you'll find the stories that you need here.

    What Next
Feel free to look around the blog and add your own thoughts or stories, I'd love to hear 'em.

Anyone Remember Reading Rainbow?

Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high…

Anyone remember Reading Rainbow, that old PBS show with Levar Burton in it (extra points if you can sing the theme song)?

I used to love that show when I was a kid, though it would give me a bit of a disconnect to watch Levar Burton in it one day and then another day see him dressed up as Geordi LaForge on Star Trek.

I always thought the intro for Reading Rainbow was really good, the song and the animation did well in showing how the magic of a good story could transport you anywhere in space and time.

In 1999 they introduced a new version of the intro that unfortunately was quite terrible, like they were trying to actually discourage kids from reading or something.

Original animated version ftw:

Reading Rainbow has been off the air since 2009 but Levar Burton has hinted in the last couple years at wanting to do an internet Reading Rainbow show mostly geared towards books for adults. …er that’s books for adults not adult books by the way.

I think that could be really interesting depending on how it was done, and of course how good the intro is ;).
