StumbleUpon is a website discovery service that shows you different sites based on what you’re interested in. I came across it a few years ago and have been using it ever since because…well…it’s freaking awesome.
It’s a great way to explore different parts of the web that you probably would have never come across otherwise. And with each stumble it learns more about what you want to see (or don’t want to see) because you hit the thumbs up or down button to show how you feel about the page.
Anyway I definitely recommend giving the main StumbleUpon site a try if you don’t already use it. If you’re reading this blog it’s probably safe to say that you love stories and StumbleUpon is a nice way to find new ones.
This particular blog post however is about the StumbleUpon phone app. I started using it about a month or so ago and have found that it’s a nice way to just relax and wind down for a bit. A lot of days it’s replaced reading pages out of a book before bed, it’s just more casual than needing to focus on the storyline of a book or remember the details for later if I’m too tired.
It’s also nice to be able to specify certain kinds of sites if I want, like a lot of times depending on my mood I just want to see poetry pages or maybe just random interesting pictures.
It’s pretty cool and is free if you have an Android phone, I don’t know about iPhones though. Thumbs up to the StumbleUpon app for making my life a little bit more relaxing!
