    Who
My name's Anita Wirawan and I love stories :).

I read/watch a lot of stories and like to share the most interesting and unusual ones here to see what everyone else thinks about them.

    Why
I had originally started this blog as a way to get things together after my brother Jody died back in 2008, but it's turned into a lot more than that.

I hope you'll find the stories that you need here.

    What Next
Feel free to look around the blog and add your own thoughts or stories, I'd love to hear 'em.

The Boy In The BDU’s

While at the grocery store I was walking down an aisle and was surprised to see a boy about six or seven years old dressed in full crisp military uniform from hat right down to shiny combat boots.

He was with his mother (who obviously worked there) and they were both stocking the shelves with soup cans. It wasn’t Bring Your Child To Work Day or anything so this was weird enough as it was but on top of it they were both doing the stocking without talking or even looking at each other.

Every time I passed the aisle there they were just silently stocking the shelves looking all dreary. Could this have been some form of punishment for the boy? Like in lieu of being grounded maybe he had to spend evenings helping his mother at work for a while.

If that was the case then what was up with the uniform? My only theory is that the boy was from a strict military family and the uniform was somehow a requirement of his punishment. Still…I have the feeling that I’m getting some part of the story wrong somehow. What do you think could have been going on??

I’m nosey……… I perhaps would have introduced myself to the pair by commenting on how sharp the young lad looked in his uniform, and gone on to ask why he was wearing it. I hope that the mother only had her boy along because she had no child care for her son while she had to work her shift; been there, done that, and it really sucks! If that’s the case though, then he is such a good boy for helping his mom stock the shelves:)
If the little guy was being punished for something though, then I hope that the punishment fits the crime! =D

      Althea,

I’m super shy so it never even crossed my mind to say anything to them. I wish you’d been there with me, then we’d know the answer :D.
