    Who
My name's Anita Wirawan and I love stories :).

I read/watch a lot of stories and like to share the most interesting and unusual ones here to see what everyone else thinks about them.

    Why
I had originally started this blog as a way to get things together after my brother Jody died back in 2008, but it's turned into a lot more than that.

I hope you'll find the stories that you need here.

    What Next
Feel free to look around the blog and add your own thoughts or stories, I'd love to hear 'em.

Typewriters …Camping For Laptops?

Saw this picture the other day and thought well… We go camping to get away from modern conveniences and entanglements, why not a holiday from wired and internet connected writing?

There’s a certain old-school romance about having to use a typewriter to compose. Maybe, like camping, in small doses it can be really fun and refreshing :D.

Definitely nice indeed. Just the tick of the typewriter key and the sound of the water rushing to the shore. Birds flapping their wings overhead. Old school indeed.

Even though I use a keyboard every day, I am totally dependent on the backspace key. With a typewriter it was “white out” and that was too time consuming.

I always hated white out, not only was it a pain in the ass but it looked so sloppy. So if you made a mistake you had to choose between using something that was sloppy or having to type the whole page over again.

That said, I’ve been considering getting a little typewriter for a while now, I think it’d be fun to do a little old fashioned typing every so often without the benefit of a backspace key or things like that. A bit of Zen typing :). Plus when I’m not using it (which will be most of the time lol) it would make a great decoration for my office.
