    Who
My name's Anita Wirawan and I love stories :).

I read/watch a lot of stories and like to share the most interesting and unusual ones here to see what everyone else thinks about them.

    Why
I had originally started this blog as a way to get things together after my brother Jody died back in 2008, but it's turned into a lot more than that.

I hope you'll find the stories that you need here.

    What Next
Feel free to look around the blog and add your own thoughts or stories, I'd love to hear 'em.

What Happens When Somebody Actually ‘Speaks Up’ At A Wedding: Chaos

To wind down after work Jennifer likes to sit on the couch and read IAmA’s on Reddit, there’s usually at least a couple that are memorable but last night she came across one based on a particularly interesting situation.

In case you don’t know, IAmA’s are basically question and answer sessions where you can ask a particular person anything you want. Usually the person has had some sort of notable experience that people would want to ask questions about, in this case it was a person who was at a wedding when someone spoke up instead of forever holding their peace…

First off, the “speak up” question was never even asked but someone did speak up. Second, this wedding cost my friend’s parents over $80,000.00.

I was a bridesmaid. My boyfriend at the time was a groomsman. We had all been friends for over 10 years. We lived 5 minutes from each oher and went on vacations and camping trips all the time. These were the people you would be “couple” friends with for the rest of your life. That is until it came down to the wedding.

It plays in my head in slow motion all the time. The entire ceremony was beautiful. I was just in awe and so excited that my best friend was sealing the deal.

The pastor went through and did his thing. He started saying the “do you take…” line for the bride to repeat when out of nowhere MY FUCKING BOYFRIEND and one of the groom’s best friends jumps out of the line and says “Wait!”.

He looks at me and says “I am so so sorry”, then he looks at the groom and proceeds to tell him his whole fucking story about how 7 months prior to the wedding he and I were going through a rough time and how he confided in the bride and she consoled him and they had this special bond and how he knew that the bride and him were soulmates and he didn’t think the groom could love her like he could.

After that things get hazy for me. The bride’s father punched my now exboyfriend in the face knocking him unconcious then the groom got into his car and left, literally for 2 weeks. I threwup all over the podium while the bride attended to my knocked out boyfriend/her supposed lover.

(Quoted from this IAmA)

It’s hard to know what to say about that other than holy crap what a crazy situation! I’d never even thought of what might happen if someone actually ‘spoke up’ during a wedding. I wonder what the guy who spoke up thought was going to happen, I mean what was his exit strategy there?

Haha man this story still makes me laugh. I feel sorry for the people involved, but it definately is a very humorous read!

      Honey,

Why in the world did he wait until the wedding? I mean that’s wrong for so many reasons but the worst is that the parents lost $80,000…that guy is lucky the dad stopped at only one punch.

Wha?? Are we SURE this really happened? It just sounds so.. movie material. Ya know?

But now why would this surprise me? I’ve been following SP’s Shannahanigans for months now. This would represent a slow day for him. LOL!

I don’t know, obviously the bride had some inkling of what was going on, right? She went to her boyfriends aid rather than chase the groom, so I think if anyone should’ve done something sooner, it should’ve been her. If not for the groom, at least out of respect to her parents, she should’ve done something. 80 grand! Damn, that’s a pricey memory! If I was dad, I’d be sending the 2 “soulmates” some invoices.

      Krudler,

No 100% confirmation on this story as far as I know but yeah it definitely would be a slow day for SP.

I don’t even know how many times I’ve thought to myself ‘oh man if I read the SP story in a book I would think it was too over the top!’

What a disaster! I wonder what has become of those characters now? I hope the ex-boyfriend is man enough to repay the bride’s parents! ….although something tells me he isn’t:/

      Althea,

That’s a good question. I haven’t gotten a chance to do more than skim the IAmA but when I read it through I’ll try to find some updates for us and post them here.

My guess is the same as yours on the repayment issue, I hope the parents were rich and could afford the loss.

Okay, 80k wedding means professional photographers and video recording. Which means this must be on YouTube somewhere, amirite? With a little editing, some follow up interviews, and a great narrator *cough* Joey Greco. This would be the most awesome episode of Cheaters EVAR!

      MrRichboi,

All leading up to a movie based on the event lol. But would it be a comedy or tragedy or what?
