Just thought I’d mention an app that I use practically every day on my phone, it’s called Aldiko and it’s an excellent e-book reader.
You can import your own books or browse their selection from the phone and find something that you like. What I really like about it though is that it has a lot of nice features like:

*A button that easily toggles between day/night mode so that you don’t fry your eyes when reading at night before bed.
*A dictionary you can use without leaving the page you’re on.
*A share function that you can use to send the page, book information, or selection of text from the page you’re on. I don’t know if this would be important to most other people but it’s a huge one for me as I like to save quotes from books for use in this blog or to copy over to my Moleskine when I get the chance. With Alkido I can just email the quote to myself and continue on my way with reading the book.
*It’s fast. This is super important especially if you’re trying to get some reading done in a small time frame like waiting for an appointment or something where every moment counts.
I don’t know if this app is available for iPhone or not but I can definitely recommend it for Android users who like to read :).
