While on a recent trip outside of Alaska Jennifer and I were driving around one day looking for a certain house. We were we were supposed to pick up a friend there, but got a bit lost (hmm a lot lost actually lol) thanks to an error in Google Maps.
We went down a long driveway that somewhat fit the description given to us of where we were supposed to be, but when we got near enough to see the house it became obvious we weren’t in the right place. Next to the house there was a woman getting something out of her car and I noticed that she was acting kind of weird.
She didn’t seem surprised that some strangers were going down her driveway, nor was she interested in trying to find out who we were or anything like that. I thought it was strange that she wasn’t interested but instead looked annoyed, wasting no time in scuttling quickly back into the house.
As Jennifer swung the car around to go back to the road I wondered about the woman at the house, maybe she had a lot of problems with people going down her driveway thinking it was a road or something etc etc. Then I seen it.
To my right was a tree, but no ordinary tree. Or maybe I should say that the tree was quite ordinary but the things dangling from it definitely weren’t. Hanging from each branch of the tree were mannequin legs, tons of mannequin legs 0_o.
They were all swaying a little in the wind and it was fucking eerie I’ll tell you that. And even more eerie was that each leg was covered in hundreds of little pockmarks, yes seriously.
I was so shocked that I didn’t even think to snap a picture of the scene, which is crazy for me.
There were so many questions popping into my head about this freaky tree, like for one thing where did the lady get all the mannequin legs? And what did she do with the rest of the mannequins…were there trees out behind the house with mannequin torsos or heads swinging from them or what lol?
But of course the main question was: what the heck were the mannequin legs there for??
The pockmarks gave a little clue, maybe the mannequin legs served as some sort of freaky feeder for woodpeckers. It’s possible right? I tried to look it up online but unfortunately found nothing and the mystery still er…stands. What do you think, got any theories on what this freaky tree was all about?

Wait a Minute! What??????????
But please tell me why didnt you take a picture of this?
In this world full of creativity ( Because I don´t want to say Madnees) lol Perhaps Its a variation of people who build little houses for birds and this lady chose legs! Mannequin´s ones of course! arms and Torsos for the fireplace and heads for making hairpieces and wigs!? I dont have Idea at all but its what it comes to my mind right now!
What worries me is the Idea of this woman having placed in this way mannequins parts, Does she have Husband, kinds, family? I´m nobody to question these kind of things but this is the first time I hear about this and If It was me, I would have said Run the engine fast Jenn!!! GO GO GO GO GO!!!!!!
It all sounds like taken from an Alfred Hitchcock movie. :(
Very Crazy thing!!! what you guys said after this?
I know, I’m still kicking myself (haha) for not getting a picture, my only excuse is that I was utterly shocked and sort of rubbing my eyes wondering if I was seeing it wrong at first. If I ever go around that area again I think I’ll try to find the place again and snap a picture.
I can only imagine what that tree looks like when there’s a windy thunderstorm happening, with legs going all different directions and lightning illuminating it in flashes…totally could be in an Alfred Hitchcock movie like you said.
I wonder what the owner of the freaky leg tree would think if she read this blog and our comments :D.
Well In that case, that woman by things of life comes to read this blog and my comments, I think I´d be in troubles! lol Because this all Idea of the mannequins legs is so crazy to me! And what I said about Torsos and heads! Oh my! Let me know so I run!lol
